Corporate History Overview In 1976, Rob D. Foley co-founded Chestemere Development Co. Ltd.; an Alberta corporation, together with a prominent Calgary family business. As the corporation’s Secretary Treasurer and Managing Director; Foley successfully promoted, developed and leased a 170,000 sq. ft. multi-tenant office / warehouse complex known as Chestemere Industrial Park. Tenants included 3M Canada, Glidden Paint, Levitt Safety, a Government Corporation, Dorsch Tractor, and Dana Corporation. In 1979, Chestemere Development Co. Ltd.; with Foley continuing to manage all aspects of the corporation, successfully developed and leased a fourteen story office complex then known as Chestemere Plaza. Tenants included a Provincial Government Crown Corporation, Public Works Canada, and a Law Firm, with a financial institution and insurance companies also leasing space. In the 1981 Canadian Best Seller, The Acquisitors – The Canadian Establishment Volume Two, Foley was recognized for his achievements and contributions to the Real Estate Industry. Later that same year Foley sold for the corporation the multi-tenant office / warehouse complex to Northwest Freeholds Limited; a company jointly owned by Grosvenor International Holdings Limited and seven British pension funds. Foley continued to manage the property for Northwest Freeholds Limited until he left the Corporation he co-founded. In 1982, Foley successfully completed The Canadian Securities Course. Foley continued with commercial real estate sales joining Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate Services in 1983. In 1984, 1985 and 1986 Foley received for his selling achievements the President’s Round Table Award, the highest sales award given. In 1986, Foley was the top producer in Royal LePage’s Calgary Commercial Office. During 1986, Foley founded Alliance Accommodation Brokers Inc. – The Alliance Group. While successfully continuing with commercial real estate brokerage services, in anticipation of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, Alliance Accommodation Brokers Inc. – The Alliance Group was highly successful in the development, international promotion and contracting of ephemeral, four star apartment hotel accommodations in downtown Calgary. International promotion was so successful that Foley’s corporate was given the unique opportunity to contract; during the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, The Lodge at Kananaskis – then a new 300 room CP Hotel. Foley’s contracted corporate roster included Members of the Olympic Family, including Official Olympic Suppliers such as Maxwell House Division of General Foods, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, The Nutrasweet Company and The City of Calgary. Foley’s Alliance Group provided assistance to the XV Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee (Click to see letter). In 1993, Foley diversified and expanded Alliance Accommodation Broker’s business operations to include Scientific Research (SR) and Experimental Development (ED) Assessment for the Recovery of Investment Tax Credits (ITC’s). After a pooling of talent and effective marketing, contracts were negotiated and entered into with Fluor Daniel Canada, Inc. (NYSE: FLR), PanCanadian Petroleum Limited (TSE: PCP), Fording Coal Limited; a Canadian Pacific Limited Company (TSE & NYSE: CP) Canadian Occidental Petroleum Limited (TSE: CXY), Norcen / Union Pacific Resources (NYSE: UNP), TransAlta Utilities Corporation (TSE: TA) and Suncor Energy Inc. (TSE & NYSE: SU). The Corporation has provided / continues to provide the essential expertise required to properly research, compile, design, and document applications for the proper recovery of SR & ED ITC’s from Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. Throughout his commercial real estate brokerage career, Foley has sold a significant number of regional malls, strip shopping centers, office buildings, apartment complexes, hotels, industrial properties, and land parcels.
